Courtney Ramirez is a 7th grade reading teacher at a diverse middle school in the Midwest. Passionate about bringing literature into the classroom that reflects her students, she wanted to create a tool to help connect readers with the many great books that are written about diverse characters and from unique perspectives. Courtney is responsible for the content of the website and is consistently adding additional books to the database. Courtney’s favorite books currently on the list are Refugee and Long Way Down.
Marinda Phandanouvong is an IT professional and software engineer with 7 years of experience. When approached about helping with the technology for this project, she was excited to be part of something that would have such a great impact on students. Marinda coded the database and is continually looking for ways to improve functionality.
